Adobe’s Creative Cloud Gets Costlier as AI Features Take Center Stage

Adobe is raising prices for its Creative Cloud subscriptions in North America and rebranding the All Apps plan as Creative Cloud Pro, starting June 17th. The update includes access to new generative AI features like Photoshop’s Generative Fill and 4,000 monthly credits for AI video/audio tools, along with the ability to use third-party models like OpenAI’s GPT and Google Imagen. The new plan also includes Adobe’s collaborative Firefly Boards app.

As part of the change, the individual annual plan will increase from $59.99 to $69.99 per month (or $779.99 yearly), while non-contracted monthly users will pay $104.99. Team and student plans are also seeing price hikes. The old All Apps plan will be phased out, and current subscribers will be automatically moved to the Pro plan upon renewal.

For users uninterested in generative AI features, Adobe is introducing a Creative Cloud Standard plan. It starts at $54.99 per month but offers only 25 generative AI credits and excludes premium features. However, it’s only available to existing subscribers—new users must opt for the more expensive Pro plan.

The changes have sparked criticism from some users, especially since Adobe is defaulting everyone to the pricier option. Similar AI-driven price changes by Canva last year were later reversed due to backlash, raising questions about whether Adobe might face similar pressure.
