This new HP laptop might be the coolest way to show you’re a League player

HP has teamed up once again with Riot Games to release the Omen 16 League of Legends Limited Edition Laptop and the Omen 25 Gaming Monitor, marking another high-profile collaboration between the gaming hardware giant and the creators of the world’s most popular MOBA. The products were officially unveiled during the 2025 League of Legends World Championship, drawing attention from both competitive gamers and die-hard fans alike.

This special edition Omen 16 isn’t just a visual tribute to the League of Legends universe—it’s a powerful gaming machine with top-tier specs. It features an Intel Core i7-14650HX2 processor, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPU, and 32GB of DDR5-5600 RAM. These specs ensure buttery-smooth performance whether you’re mid-fight, streaming your matches, or multitasking between gameplay and recording. HP also focused on thermal improvements this year, integrating larger fan gaps, additional heat pipes, and quieter fans for efficient cooling without the excessive noise gamers usually deal with.

Aesthetically, the laptop captures the LoL vibe perfectly, with details like gold HEXTECH accents, custom fonts, and highlighted QWER and DF keys. The design screams “for gamers, by gamers,” but without going overboard. The 16-inch display supports up to a 240Hz refresh rate and reaches 500 nits of brightness, ensuring both speed and clarity during intense matches. Meanwhile, OMEN AI integration in the HP Gaming Hub allows automatic optimization of performance, power, and temperature, making it a plug-and-play dream for players who don’t want to tweak endless settings.

Battery life is rated at up to 5 hours and 45 minutes, though it’s clear that figure applies to lighter workloads. For gaming sessions, the fast-charging capability—reaching 50% in about 30 minutes—will be much more relevant. Connectivity options are solid, including three USB Type-A ports, one HDMI 2.1, one USB Type-C, an RJ-45 Ethernet port, and a headphone/mic combo jack. The laptop starts at $1,999, offering both premium performance and unmistakable League of Legends flair.

HP’s Josephine Tan, Senior Vice President and Division President of Personal Systems Gaming Solutions, said the launch embodies both competition and fandom: “Players want gear that reflects how they play, and this collaboration celebrates that spirit—delivering both design and performance that resonate with the gaming community.”

For non-League fans, the Omen 16 League Edition might still appeal as a high-end gaming laptop, though alternatives like the Asus ROG Strix G16 (2025) with an Intel Core Ultra 9 CPU offer similar performance for the same price. Ultimately, it comes down to preference: the HP Omen 16 offers a unique blend of style and gaming power, while the ROG Strix line leans more toward productivity mixed with raw performance. Either way, HP’s latest collaboration shows that gaming laptops can now merge top-tier performance with fandom-inspired aesthetics without compromise.
