Xiaomi has just launched its brand-new OpenWear Stereo Pro earbuds, marking another major step in the growing trend of open-ear audio design. Unlike traditional in-ear models, these earbuds rest gently on the outer ear, offering a comfortable fit for long hours of listening without blocking outside sounds. This makes them perfect for people who dislike the pressure of in-ear buds or want to stay aware of their surroundings while working, running, or commuting.

Priced at around £139 (roughly $179), the Xiaomi OpenWear Stereo Pro offers an impressive mix of premium design, advanced features, and high-quality sound at a mid-range price point. Each earbud weighs just 9.7 grams and features a sleek metal and TPU construction with a titanium wire for flexibility and durability. The Sand Gold color option gives the buds a sophisticated and minimalistic appearance, and the vegan leather case adds a classy touch.

Xiaomi has packed the OpenWear Stereo Pro with serious audio hardware, including 18 x 13 mm multi-armature dynamic drivers and a piezoelectric ceramic tweeter capable of covering frequencies from 20Hz to 40kHz. The result is a surprisingly powerful sound, especially for open-ear earbuds. The bass response is clear, the mids are balanced, and the highs are crisp — a combination fine-tuned by Harman to deliver an immersive and natural listening experience.

Beyond sound quality, these earbuds come loaded with smart features. Users can connect two devices simultaneously, record audio directly from the earbuds for up to 120 minutes, and even use AI subtitles when paired with Xiaomi 15 phones. Touch controls allow you to skip tracks, adjust the volume, or activate voice assistants with simple gestures. The adaptive volume feature automatically adjusts sound levels based on surrounding noise, while the dimensional audio system tracks head movements to create a dynamic 3D sound environment.

Comfort and battery life are also standout points. Thanks to the open design, users can wear these earbuds for hours without discomfort. Each earbud houses a 56 mAh battery, offering up to 8.5 hours of playback per charge, while the 700 mAh charging case extends total use to an impressive 45 hours. A quick 10-minute charge provides up to two hours of playtime, although the lack of wireless charging may disappoint some users.

The OpenWear Stereo Pro doesn’t include active noise cancellation, but that’s intentional — the open-ear design is meant to let in ambient sound for safety and awareness. Despite this, the earbuds maintain a rich and full sound profile even in outdoor environments.

Overall, the Xiaomi OpenWear Stereo Pro represents an exciting evolution in wearable audio technology. It offers great sound, long battery life, premium comfort, and plenty of smart features — all at a reasonable price. Xiaomi’s latest creation proves that open-ear designs can finally rival traditional earbuds when it comes to both performance and everyday usability.
