Ford has taken the already extreme Mustang GTD to the next level with the introduction of the Liquid Carbon edition, which forgoes paint entirely in favor of a fully exposed carbon-fiber body. The result is not only visually stunning but also performance-focused, trimming additional weight while showcasing precision craftsmanship.
Compared to the GTD Carbon Series with the Performance Pack, the Liquid Carbon is 13 pounds lighter thanks to the absence of paint and the replacement of traditional sheet metal doors with bonded carbon fiber. Ford emphasizes that in high-performance vehicles, every pound matters — and the Liquid Carbon delivers.
The seamless carbon-fiber weave is one of its standout features, flowing cohesively across the hood, roof, wing, and rear ducktail. This makes the Liquid Carbon as much a piece of art as it is a race-inspired supercar.
Performance comes standard: the Performance Package includes 20-inch magnesium wheels, Black Brembo brakes with anodized GTD script, additional aerodynamic elements, and reduced sound deadening for a rawer driving experience. Power is supplied by a supercharged 5.2-liter V8, producing 815 horsepower and 664 lb-ft of torque, paired with a semi-active rear inboard pushrod suspension.
Inside, the cabin features black leather and Dinamica suede, accented by bold Hyper Lime stitching across the seats, steering wheel, and door panels.
The first Liquid Carbon Mustang GTD deliveries are set for October 2025, joining the GTD Spirit of America in the lineup. While pricing has not yet been revealed, it is expected to exceed the Mustang GTD’s $327,000 starting price.
