Samsung has reportedly stopped the release of its highly anticipated One UI 7 update due to a bug that is preventing some Galaxy S24 users from unlocking their devices. The halt was initially brought to light by leaker Ice Universe, who noted the presence of a “serious bug.” Although the issues appear to be mainly affecting South Korean customers of the Galaxy S24 series, Samsung has opted to suspend the update for all models globally.
While some users might have already downloaded One UI 7, we’ve verified through the CheckFirm application that the update is no longer available as the latest firmware on Samsung’s servers for various Galaxy devices, with older versions now showing instead. The company has yet to confirm the rollout pause or any plans to release a fix for those who have already installed the One UI 7 update. We have reached out for official comments.
The update, which includes Android 15 and numerous AI enhancements, began its rollout to Galaxy S24, Z Fold 6, and Z Flip 6 models on April 7, and reached U.S. devices by April 10. It has also been accessible for Galaxy S25 models and updates to the more affordable Galaxy A series since their launch in February.
This suspension follows a significant delay in releasing the update for older devices, arriving seven months after Android 15 was released to developers, and two months after the S25 series was launched with the software.
