Lucid to Boost Gravity SUV Deliveries by Late April

Lucid Motors is set to resume customer deliveries of its new all-electric Gravity SUV by the end of April, marking a significant milestone for the company. The success of Lucid will largely depend on its ability to provide vehicle types that resonate with American consumers.

The Gravity is Lucid’s second model and its first SUV, following the Lucid Air sedan series. Orders for the seven-seater SUV were opened in November 2024, with initial deliveries made to employees, friends, and family starting in December.

At a brand activation event in New York City, Marc Winterhoff, interim CEO of Lucid, announced, “We are nearly finished building all the vehicles we aimed to have ready for our studio and test drives. By the end of April, we will resume customer deliveries of the Gravity.”

Employees at the event, which included a surprise mini performance by Cautious Clay, told TechCrunch that production of the Gravity is ramping up at the company’s factory in Casa Grande, Arizona. This U.S.-based facility is expected to benefit the EV startup, especially in light of President Donald Trump’s recent 25% tariffs on automobiles.

The Gravity, priced at $94,900, boasts an official EPA range estimate of 450 miles and sports car-like performance, which Lucid attributes to its innovative battery technology that enables a denser, lighter battery without compromising power. “With the Lucid Gravity, you don’t have to compromise. You can have it all,” Winterhoff stated.
