The OnePlus 15R is finally official, and its biggest highlight is now confirmed: a huge 7,400mAh battery. While not as extreme as the Ace 6T’s 8,300mAh cell in China, it still marks the largest battery OnePlus has ever offered in markets like India.
This new model sits as the more affordable sibling to the OnePlus 15, and although its battery doesn’t reach the previously rumored levels, it still beats many top-tier competitors. For context, its capacity surpasses the batteries inside the Galaxy S25 Ultra, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and Pixel 10 Pro XL — an impressive feat for a device positioned as a budget-friendly flagship.
Despite the hype surrounding the enormous battery, real-world performance may vary. The earlier OnePlus 13R, for example, came with a 6,000mAh unit but still couldn’t break into the top rankings for endurance in independent battery tests. So expectations should stay grounded until full reviews arrive.
Beyond battery life, OnePlus has confirmed a series of standout specs: a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, a 165Hz display, and extensive IP66/68/69K water and dust protection, which is rare even among premium devices. The phone will also ship with OxygenOS 16 pre-installed.
Other rumored features — including a 50MP + 8MP dual camera setup, 16MP selfie camera, 100W charging, up to 16GB of RAM, and a 6.83-inch display — are still awaiting official confirmation. With the global launch set for December 17, users won’t have to wait long to see the complete picture.
If the price is right, the OnePlus 15R could quickly become one of the most compelling high-end budget phones of the year — assuming it also reaches markets outside India and Europe.
