Vertu has formally unveiled its latest high-end smartphone, the Agent Q, positioning it at the intersection of craftsmanship, exclusivity and advanced AI services. The device makes its debut in London at Harrods and aims to re-establish Vertu’s luxury credentials by blending rare materials such as crocodile (or alligator) leather, gold-plated components and hand-assembled stainless steel parts with cutting-edge performance hardware.
Under the hood, the Agent Q is reported to include a Snapdragon “8 Elite Supreme” (3nm) chipset, 16 GB of RAM, and a high-refresh -rate 120Hz AMOLED display. On the imaging front it offers a 50 MP main camera (with variable aperture), a 50 MP ultra-wide sensor and a 64 MP telephoto lens. The battery is listed at 5,565 mAh with 65 W wired charging support. Additionally, Vertu highlights its build-quality, citing over 320 hand-assembled components and a Swiss-engineered hinge in the device’s construction.
On the service side, Vertu has revamped its iconic concierge feature—the “Ruby Key” now activates what the company calls “Ruby Talk,” an AI-driven assistant backed by a global human concierge team of over 200 people available around the clock. Vertu describes this as its “AI Agent Phone” ecosystem, where on-device and cloud intelligence combine to anticipate and execute complex tasks like travel bookings, document preparation or luxury service access. The hardware is built with privacy in mind: a dedicated encryption chip, a claimed 10 TB of secure cloud storage and an architecture designed for high-net-worth users concerned with data sovereignty.
However, this is clearly a niche product. Vertu has positioned the Agent Q as more than a tech device—it is a status object. At launch, availability is limited (for now only at Harrods and select Vertu boutiques) and pricing has not been publicly confirmed but expected to be significantly above standard flagship phones. For buyers willing to pay for rarity, craftsmanship and concierge-led luxury, the Agent Q presents an intriguing option. For everyone else, it serves as a reminder of how luxury brands continue to explore the convergence of premium materials, AI services and exclusivity in the smartphone market.
