Huawei has officially unveiled its latest flagship tablet, the MatePad 12 X, a device that pushes the limits of display innovation and audio performance. Designed for users seeking a premium multimedia experience, the tablet combines elegant aesthetics with powerful internals and immersive sound.
The MatePad 12 X features a 12-inch LCD display with Huawei’s exclusive PaperMatte technology — a special coating that reduces glare and provides a paper-like texture when reading or writing. The screen delivers a crisp 2800×1840 resolution, supports adaptive refresh rates up to 144Hz, and is certified for HDR Vivid, offering users an exceptionally vibrant and comfortable viewing experience.
Crafted with a sleek all-metal body, the MatePad 12 X is just 5.9mm thick and weighs 555 grams, making it both durable and lightweight. It comes in elegant green and white color options. The tablet is equipped with a 50MP rear camera with LED flash and an 8MP front camera optimized for video calls and selfies. One of its most impressive features is the six-speaker system — two tweeters and four woofers — designed to deliver clear, rich, and powerful audio that sets a new standard for tablets in this category.
Under the hood, the MatePad 12 X is powered by a 10,100mAh battery, paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, ensuring smooth multitasking and long battery life. It supports Wi-Fi 7, boasts a cooling system improved by 33% compared to the previous generation, and features 66W fast charging, allowing users to quickly top up the large battery.
Huawei has also introduced new accessories for the tablet, including a magnetic keyboard and the M-Pencil Pro stylus. The keyboard, which weighs 308 grams, is included in the box, while the M-Pencil Pro is sold separately.
The Huawei MatePad 12 X is priced at $806 and is now available globally through Huawei’s official online store. With its premium screen, impressive audio system, and lightweight design, this tablet aims to compete directly with Apple and Samsung’s flagship offerings in the high-end Android tablet market.
