New iPhone 18 Rumors: Smaller Dynamic Island but No Under-Display Face ID

For years, Apple fans have been anticipating major design changes in upcoming iPhones, and rumors about the next generation continue to fuel excitement. According to a new leak from Weibo, the iPhone 18, iPhone 18 Pro, and iPhone 18 Pro Max will feature a smaller front cutout, meaning the Dynamic Island will shrink, providing users with a more seamless viewing experience and additional screen space. However, contrary to previous expectations, Apple reportedly has no plans to introduce under-display Face ID in this generation.

Reports suggest that the advanced facial recognition system may instead debut in the iPhone 19 Pro or later models. For now, iPhone 18 users will have to settle for a reduced cutout, while the front camera will remain housed within the smaller punch-hole. This decision indicates that Apple is still not ready to bring under-display cameras to its flagship lineup.

The source of these rumors is Instant Digital, a leaker who has previously revealed accurate information such as the yellow iPhone 14 color and the cooling system of the iPhone 17 Pro. However, not all of their predictions have been correct in the past. Since there is still a year to go before Apple officially introduces the iPhone 18 series, many more leaks are expected to surface. The real question is which of these rumors will prove true when the devices are finally unveiled.
