Apple is set to hold its highly anticipated “Awe Dropping” event on September 9, where it is expected to unveil its latest lineup of flagship products. Leaks and reports from sources like Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman and analyst Ming-Chi Kuo point to major updates across the board, from the new iPhone 17 series to new wearables.
Here is a detailed look at the expected announcements:
iPhone 17 Series Apple is rumored to introduce four new models: the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and a brand-new, ultra-thin model called the iPhone 17 Air. The iPhone 17 Air, which is expected to replace the Plus model, is rumored to be just 5.5mm thick, making it the thinnest iPhone ever created.
All four models are expected to feature a 120Hz ProMotion display, a technology previously reserved for Pro models. The standard iPhone 17 will also reportedly get a slightly larger 6.3-inch screen. The Pro models are tipped to feature a significant camera redesign, with a new 48-megapixel telephoto lens capable of 8x optical zoom and a variable aperture main camera. The front-facing camera on all models is expected to be upgraded to a 24-megapixel sensor.
In terms of pricing, analysts from JPMorgan project that the iPhone 17 will maintain its $799 starting price. However, the iPhone 17 Pro is expected to see a price increase to $1,099, though it will reportedly come with 256GB of base storage, double the previous model’s. The iPhone 17 Air is anticipated to be priced between the standard and Pro models, around $899 to $949.
Other Products Beyond the iPhones, the event is also expected to feature new Apple Watches and AirPods. The Apple Watch Series 11 and Apple Watch Ultra 3 are likely to be announced, with the Ultra 3 possibly gaining new health features and improved battery life. The long-awaited AirPods Pro 3 are also rumored to debut, with potential new features including live AI translation, heart-rate sensors, and a smaller charging case.
