WhatsApp has launched a new AI-powered feature called Writing Help to improve the way users compose messages. The tool enables users to rephrase text, check for clarity, and adjust the tone of their messages to be more professional, humorous, supportive, or casual, depending on the context. This feature is designed to enhance communication and help users express themselves more effectively within the app.

Writing Help operates using Meta’s Private Processing technology, ensuring that the original message and AI-generated suggestions remain private. Neither WhatsApp nor Meta can access the content, giving users confidence that their conversations are secure. The tool appears as a pencil icon when composing messages, making it easy to apply suggestions directly in one-on-one or group chats.

Currently available in English in select regions, WhatsApp plans to expand the feature globally over time. By integrating Writing Help, WhatsApp aims to reduce the need for external AI writing tools and provide a seamless, privacy-conscious way for users to enhance their messaging experience.
