iOS 26 Finally Lets You Disable Apple Wallet Ads — But There’s a Catch

After months of beta testing, iOS 26 is almost here, launching this September alongside the new iPhone 17 lineup. The update brings the highly anticipated Liquid Glass redesign, several new system features, and plenty of smaller app tweaks. One of the most notable changes comes to Apple Wallet, addressing one of its most frustrating quirks.

Earlier this summer, Apple frustrated iPhone owners by pushing advertisements through Apple Wallet notifications, including a widely criticized promo for F1: The Movie. Users complained there was no way to stop these ads without turning off all Wallet notifications, which is far from ideal since Wallet is critical for daily use — from Apple Pay to boarding passes, ID cards, and event tickets.

With iOS 26, Apple is finally providing a fix. A new toggle called “Offers & Promotions” will now appear in the Wallet’s notifications settings. Turn it off, and those unwanted ads will disappear. The catch? The option is enabled by default, so users will have to manually switch it off.

While small, this tweak will be a welcome quality-of-life improvement for many. Wallet remains one of Apple’s most important apps, and ensuring it doesn’t double as an ad channel could go a long way in improving user trust.

iOS 26 is currently in its final beta and will debut shortly after Apple’s September event, which will also reveal the iPhone 17 Pro, Pro Max, and the ultra-thin iPhone 17 Air.
