Dodge is firmly embracing its identity as Stellantis’ performance powerhouse by making the V-8 engine the standard across the entire Durango lineup for 2026. The base Durango GT now features a 5.7-liter V-8 producing 360 horsepower—an increase of 65 hp over the outgoing Pentastar V-6. This power boost comes with a price hike, as the 2026 Durango GT starts at $44,490, $4,000 more than the previous model.
The mid-tier R/T model receives a significant power upgrade by swapping its 5.7-liter V-8 for a 6.4-liter V-8 “392” engine, delivering a robust 470 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque—115 hp more than before. Although Dodge hasn’t released an exact price for the 2026 R/T, it will start just under $50,000, close to the prior year’s $49,995 starting point.
At the top of the range, the 2026 Durango SRT Hellcat returns with its supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 producing a monstrous 710 horsepower and 645 lb-ft of torque. The new Jailbreak trim introduces more customization options, including six wheel designs and five interior colors. Surprisingly, despite these upgrades, the Hellcat’s starting price drops by $6,000 to $81,990 for 2026.
Dodge will begin taking orders for the Durango GT and SRT Hellcat starting August 13, with deliveries expected in the fourth quarter. The R/T AWD will open for orders later this year. This bold move cements the Durango’s role as a true performance SUV with no compromises on power.
