Google’s upcoming Pixel 10 hardware event is set for August 20, but not everything will be ready for shelves right away. According to multiple reports, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold and Pixel Watch 4—two of the most anticipated devices in the lineup—won’t be available until October 9, despite being unveiled alongside the rest of the Pixel 10 family.
The delay appears to stem from supply chain complications, though Google hasn’t officially commented. Sources suggest the foldable model’s redesigned hinge, new display, and IP68 water resistance may be contributing to slower production. The Pixel Watch 4 is also expected to feature a new charging system, which could be adding to the holdup.
This staggered release strategy means that while the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL will begin shipping on August 28, fans of Google’s foldables and wearables will have to wait nearly six weeks longer. The Pixel Buds 2a are also part of the delayed group.
Historically, Google has faced similar rollout issues. Last year’s Pixel 9 series saw uneven availability, with some models arriving weeks after their launch event. This year’s delay could be even more impactful, as Apple’s iPhone 17 and new Apple Watch models are expected to launch in September, potentially stealing some of Google’s spotlight.
Despite the setback, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is shaping up to be a major upgrade. It’s rumored to include Qi2 wireless charging, a larger battery, and improved camera hardware. The Watch 4, while visually similar to its predecessor, may offer better performance and new health tracking features.
Whether the delay affects consumer interest remains to be seen. But for now, Google’s most innovative devices are on pause—just long enough to test the patience of its most loyal fans.
