Microsoft has quietly introduced a new audio feature called Shared Audio in the latest Windows 11 Insider Preview builds. This functionality lets users stream audio simultaneously to multiple connected devices directly from the Quick Settings panel.

The new Shared Audio tool is designed to enhance group listening experiences, allowing audio to be played on several Bluetooth or other connected speakers or headphones at once. This can be especially handy for watching movies with friends, hosting small gatherings, or creating shared audio environments in public or office spaces.

Key Features:

  • Simultaneous Multi-Device Audio: Stream audio to more than one device at the same time.

  • Easy Access: Available right in the Quick Settings menu of Windows 11 for convenient control.

  • Bluetooth Support: Compatible with Bluetooth devices running Bluetooth 4.0 or higher.

What Users Should Know:

  • The feature is currently only available in the Windows Insider Canary channel, meaning it’s in early testing and may not appear in stable versions.

  • Microsoft has not yet made any official announcements regarding the rollout timeline or broader compatibility details.

  • Since the feature is experimental, users may encounter bugs or limitations.

This Shared Audio addition could mark an important step toward more seamless multi-device audio management on Windows PCs, blending convenience with social listening possibilities.
