DJ enthusiasts have reason to be excited as fresh leaks suggest DJI is preparing to launch several new products in the near future. According to drone industry publication DroneXL, the Chinese tech giant appears to be developing three new unmanned aircraft along with an innovative action camera, with regulatory filings and prototype images providing compelling evidence of these upcoming releases.

The most substantial leaks concern what appears to be the next generation of DJI’s popular FPV drone. The purported Avata 3 model shows several notable design refinements when compared to its predecessor, including a relocated battery compartment, an enlarged forward-facing camera housing, and a shift from tri-blade to quad-blade propeller configuration. Accompanying this advanced FPV model in leaked images is what industry watchers believe to be the Neo 2, though beyond some observable modifications to its protective propeller guards, details about this potential update to DJI’s beginner-friendly offering remain limited.

Perhaps the most intriguing development comes from recently uncovered FCC documentation pertaining to the Mini 5 Pro. The regulatory filings reveal this compact drone will feature a significantly upgraded 33.5 watt-hour battery pack, representing a near doubling of capacity compared to the 18.9 watt-hour unit in the current Mini 4 Pro. Technical specifications within the filing have led to speculation that the new model may boast an impressive 25 kilometer (15.5 mile) video transmission range, which would represent a 25% improvement over existing capabilities. This enhanced performance would narrow the gap between the Mini series and DJI’s more professional offerings like the curiously available Mavic 4 Pro, whose stateside availability continues to puzzle industry observers.

Beyond its aerial offerings, DJI appears to be expanding its ground-based imaging solutions with the development of the Osmo Nano action camera. Early documentation suggests this new entrant will adopt a modular design philosophy similar to the company’s existing Action camera lineup. The company’s product roadmap may also include updated versions of its popular microphone system and 360-degree camera, though concrete information about these potential releases remains elusive at this time.

These developments, emerging through a combination of regulatory paper trails and prototype sightings, suggest DJI is preparing a comprehensive refresh of its product ecosystem. With the Mini 5 Pro reportedly slated for a September debut, drone enthusiasts and content creators alike may soon have several new tools at their disposal for aerial imaging and beyond.
