Although Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella says he enjoys podcasts, he might not actually listen to them in the traditional sense anymore. In a recent Bloomberg profile focused on Microsoft’s AI strategy and its evolving partnership with OpenAI, Nadella revealed that he now uploads podcast transcripts into Microsoft’s Copilot AI and discusses the content with the assistant during his commute.
Nadella also mentioned that he uses at least 10 custom-built AI agents through Copilot Studio to manage everyday tasks—summarizing emails, preparing for meetings, and handling office communications. He humorously referred to his own role as an “email typist.”
Beyond Nadella’s personal use, AI appears to be reshaping Microsoft at a deeper level. Following recent layoffs, where programmers were reportedly the most affected group, Nadella stated that AI now writes about 30% of the company’s code.
