Xiaomi has achieved remarkable success in the electric vehicle sector. Over the past 11 months, the company has delivered more than 180,000 SU7 electric vehicles to customers, setting a significant record in the competitive electric vehicle market. The SU7 is available in three versions: Standard, Pro, and Max, with prices ranging between $28,000 to $40,000.
Introduction of the Ultra Model with Impressive Features
The SU7 Ultra, introduced on February 27, 2024 (Esfand 8, 1403), is equipped with three electric motors and an output of 1,548 horsepower, making it one of the fastest electric sedans in the world. This car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 1.98 seconds. Xiaomi has reduced the price of the Ultra model from $112,000 to $73,000, which has significantly increased demand.
15,000 Orders in the First 24 Hours
Following the introduction of the SU7 Ultra, 15,000 orders were placed within 24 hours, and the total number of orders has now reached 19,000 units. Out of these, 10,000 units have been converted into confirmed orders. Given the current production capacity, all Ultra models are pre-sold for the next two years.
Increasing Production Capacity Due to High Demand
Initially, Xiaomi set a sales target of 10,000 SU7 Ultra units for 2025. However, the unexpectedly high demand has prompted the company to consider increasing production capacity. Lei Jun, Xiaomi’s founder, stated that demand has exceeded expectations, and the company is currently assessing options for production expansion.
Trust-Building with a 7-Day Cancellation Period
To boost customer confidence, Xiaomi has introduced a 7-day cancellation period for the SU7 purchase, offering a full refund of the down payment. However, orders that have reached the final stage are non-refundable. This move reflects Xiaomi’s commitment to customer satisfaction and ensuring trust in their products.
Xiaomi’s Path to Establishing Itself in the Electric Vehicle Market
The overwhelming response to the SU7 and particularly the Ultra model indicates that Xiaomi is on track to establish itself as a major player in the electric vehicle industry, positioning itself to compete seriously with other leading companies in the field.
